The Official Gazette for the Philippines reports that the typhoon affected some
20 provinces and the worst hit ones are Leyte and Eastern Samar. These are the names of the towns that have the worst damage and losses..... Guivan, Mercedes, Salcedo, Hernani, Balangkayan, Quinapondan, Giporlos, Balangiga and Lawaan. There are many others but these have been discovered as the worst affected as of now.
