Today was a special surprise for many people.... Ice cold fresh Minute Maid Orange Juice was delivered to hundreds. The first to receive this much needed vitamin source was a senior citizens iindependent living home called Harbour Bay Homes. They have a secure place to live, but very little else. I have seen many of them going without basic needs met and hungry. So Moms Against Hunger works to help these precious elderly Americans.
Everyone who lives on a fixed income spends a majority of their very small stipend on either medicines or sparse foods for the month. There is nothing left over for any extras. Today this HUDHousing development serves all of the seniors that live in this complex. They are so very grateful... and thankful for this gift!
This gentleman was so happy to see orange juice he opened his bottle and started drinking it right there!
It touches my heart and I wonder just how long it has been since he's been able to afford a gallon of orange juice.
He is suffering with health problems and cannot afford to have anything special each month. Coca Cola thank you!!
We drive across to another complex and are met with the same excitement... "oh thank you so much... I LOVE orange juice..... I can't wait to drink mine!" Are statements we hear over and over. Aged men and women are so grateful for this treat!
Food supplies are brought in to a basement facility and meals are being served .....breakfast, lunch and supper here to families in need.
In a crisis all food types are appreciated and consumed each day!
Food tables and cooking is often done outside, finding a safe place away from the destruction all around. Moms get started helping to feed shocked and hurting people all day long. Story after story is told while people stand and eat a hot meal before trying to figure out what to do next....
I want to show you some pictures of the raw reality of destruction.. a child's life and all he knew was gone in an instant. Yet his little tub of toys remains untouched...inside the terrible wind walls of terror.
It's 4:58am and this was where someone was asleep the morning the tornado slammed into their home!
Or maybe you were up making coffee getting ready to go to work when it hit your house!
IN JUST A FEW MINUTES ENTIRE COMMUNITIES AND NEIGHBORHOODS ARE GONE....
Our thoughts and prayers are with those who lost loved ones.... homes.... businesses.... churches....belongings... schools... Moms Against Hunger cares for you.
In memory of those who lost their lives.... Moms Against Hunger is there to help and hold, encourage and feed, and bring support to families in the Midwest grieving their terrible losses.
There is limited Internet service here in West Liberty Kentucky. Today is so sad for many families burying their moms or dads, sisters brothers and children. There is still no official death count here as body parts cannot be counted without torsos. I will show you how terrible this town looks today.
Below are some pictures from the warehouse that was donated yesterday!!
It's already filled with donations and families have been coming in already this morning getting much needed staples! Thank You America!!!

We have 250,000 meals ready now to ship to the Fiji Islands to help with the terrific needs of children there. Currently we are raising funds to provide the shipping costs of approx $9,500.00. Can you help? Please donate today and save the lives of children!
Another tropical depression is 600 kilometres west of Nadi, site of Fiji's international airport, and could form into a tropical cyclone in the next 12 to 24 hours, senior meteorologist Amit Singh told the FijiLive news website.
He said the weather system would bring heavy rain, and another flood warning has been issued for the entire Fiji group.
A family of four, including two young girls, ages 1 and 3, were buried alive last week when a landslide engulfed their house after days of torrential rains. Iol News reports this information.
Your help is needed. Please donate today and help Moms Against Hunger ship food to the Fiji Islands.
Americans don’t get a lot of outside news of what is happening around the world in disasters. Our representative in the Fiji Islands just sent me a urgent message about what is happening there. Here is a part of his letter to me…… the pictures are not good, but you can see what is happening…..
“After four consecutive days of torrential rain, in the Fiji Islands caused most of our towns, cities and villages to be flooded. Most villages and homes are 15 feet under water, as roads turn into sea of debris.
A young family in a village in Ba was buried in a landslide early yesterday morning. Thousands of our people are seeking shelter as their homes and belongings are under water. There are fears that flood waters could rise to record heights in the next few days, and people are warned to prepare for the worst if a cyclone was to hit the nation in the aftermath of the current rainfall and flooding. The City Administrator in Ba said, he had never seen anything like it, and it was highlighted in our local newspaper today that this flood is worse than the flood in 2009, because of the duration and disruption of the services, homes, Business and roads. Farmers have lost out as their crops have been totally destroyed. We deeply value your friendship and prayers…. Any help in kind or cash will be greatly appreciated!
Friends.....I immediately checked our warehouse stock for our food sources.... and WE HAVE THE FOOD ..... BUT I DON’T HAVE THE SHIPPING MONEY TO SEND IT TO THEM.
Can you help me get the food to the Fiji Islands? Your donation can make the difference! JUST CLICK the donate button.
The floods that hit Fiji last week are estimated to have destroyed half the crops and livestock in the affected area of western Viti Levu.
The Fiji Times says the total damage bill is more than $17 million, with the sugar industry taking one of the biggest hits. Scores of roads and bridges were washed out and power and water supplies damaged. The Times says the sugar industry has sustained damage worth almost $10 million.
YOUR HELP IS NEEDED TO SHIP PRECIOUS FOOD TO THIS NATION IN NEED. PLEASE DONATE NOW...
Tourists who arrived back in New Zealand from Fiji this afternoon spoke of wading to the airport. Others reportedly had an army escort.
"We were in about knee-deep water to get through to the airport but we made it okay," one tourist said. "The houses were underwater but the water's still rising."
Entire villages are now without shelter and food. They are asking us to send food. With the Fiji Government today declaring parts of the Western Division ‘a State of Natural Disaster’, the Pacific Conference of Churches (PCC) is calling on the general public to reach out and help those worst affected by the floods.
“Whatever you can contribute will go a long way in Western Viti Levu, as well as in Vanua Levu, majority of whom have lost their belongings in the floods,” said PCC’s Climate Impact and Disaster Risk Assessment (CIDRA) Officer Reverend Ikani Tolu.”
PLEASE CAN YOU HELP WITH A DONATION TO SHIP THE FOOD TO THEM....CAN YOU HELP ME SEND THEM THE FOOD?
Our supplies are here.... together we can help these people live through this terrific flood. Please assist me in helping the Fiji Islands in need.
I cannot do this without you..... I need you...

Moms Against Hunger
A senior citizen stops me outside a restaurant and begged me to help her. She is scared and spoke timidly asking for food. "Please don't call the cops on me", she pleaded. Hungry and alone in life, her story is unknown, but no one should be hungry! Moms Against Hunger gives her aid... right here in our home town.
As of 2009, there were almost 1 million seniors in the U.S. who go hungry because they cannot afford to buy food. Another 5 million seniors in the U.S. faced the threat of hunger. In one of the world's richest nations, no older American should be going hungry. However instead, in recent years, hunger rates have more than doubled for poor seniors in the country, and it is likely to get worse as the older population is the fastest growing cohort of the U.S. population. You can get more statistics on Senior Hunger from a pioneering study on the topic that we helped support.

A group of mothers are working hard at preparing our 'Gifts in a Jar' project. Jars are filled with hot chocolate, white chocolate, dulce de leche, and strawberry mixes. These will be sold and the funds used for our Christmas projects.
If you would like to be a part of this project - the jars sell for 3.00 each. Every mom is needed and together we can provide for the needs of single parents. There are thousands of worried mothers who have nothing to give their children this Christmas. They are barely making ends meet and pray their cars don't break down, the baby sitters don't quit, and the food holds out week to week.
We are here for them.
The local chapter of Moms Against Hunger gave away 11 Thanksgiving Baskets! 43 family members had a meaningful special dinner today because of the loving hands of Moms!
Each family received a turkey along with all the trimmings to make a Thanksgiving Dinner. These were families that would not have had a special day for their children if not for the generous helpers and Moms!
We are thankful for every person who gives to MAH, and for the many volunteers who help to encourage and support local hungry families in need. Happy Thanksgiving Day!
The noise in the background is a jack hammer breaking out the concrete next door. This home has not been touched yet as they have no help, no volunteers or family members to come help them. Every neighbor is dealing with the same destruction...
This Mom Rita is packing goods to take to the distribution points to be passed out to fire families in need.
This Mom Julie unloads the boxes for families...
This Mom Stephanie hands out supplies to families coming through the distribution lines.
This Mom Angela is giving practical support to each family....
Children are hot, tired, dirty and worried too about when they are going home..... IF they are going home. Their young lives are turned upside down, no schools are open and life is in a turmoil for them. Moms need lots of baby wipes to try to clean them up daily while they wait. Snacks and meals are provided too.
The Command Center was crammed with officials and computers and fast operations with the firefighters in the field. No one had time to think about food... so it was a welcome relief to have a burrito from Bullritos put in their hands while they kept working.
We are glad to be able to help these many many heros working to save homes and businesses from the wild fires...
We have sent all the socks we had - to the firemen standing in water with wet feet for days now... If you can donate to help please do so..
Panera's sent all sorts of breads for us to give out with this load. We appreciate their support.
Among many other items more sunscreen was passed out - so many hundreds of firefighters standing in the hot sun battling blazes. This is a welcome gift to each one.
Diapers bring tears to the eyes of mothers with babies.. ALL quickly given out.
Baby foods and formula - a never ending need right now. Plus lots of other supplies......
And a special treat... lot's of fresh baked cookies were donated by Magnolia's Bakery. (you guys are stars!) We sent as much as we could on this truck...
Today we pack another one to go at noon today. Last night another subdivision was evacuated at 11 pm. The fire is only 50 percent contained again! Please help and please pray....
We have sent 2 truckloads of supplies so far... and these items are being gratefully received by families who have had to run to shelters. Fire respects no one, and young and old alike, are waiting side by side, praying and waiting to see if their homes and businesses will be spared the ravages of these fire storms.
School bags are useful for each family to receive supplies and a way to carry them. It's hard to carry more than couple of things without a bag or two. So this will help for all the items we are sending to them.
Every mom is worried about what she is going to do tonight for her baby. 'What am I going to do about formula' MAH knows this need and has sent formula to these in need. This will be thankfully received by each mom. Think about trying to soothe a hungry baby in a shelter! They are tired, nervous and sense the fear around them. Only a bottle will help!
Who remembers to bring their toothbrush when you are rushing from home in a crisis? It's the last thing to think of when important papers are paramount along with kids and pets! These will be a welcome sight tonight for everyone who receives one. We are sending toothpaste too.
These are guest bags with sample size items for traveling families. Combs, deodorant, shaving cream, lotion, soap and a wash cloth inside. These will be given to seniors as they are often the last to receive any supplies.
Blankets, pillows and comforters are sent to the shelters as well. At least families will have something to sleep with tonight. Soft baby blankets and child size pillows are sent also.
We hope they will get some sleep tonight.
Bread is something that can be used to make fast meals with. We sent all sorts of baked goods, pita breads, rolls, sliced breads, pies and sugar free pies and some cakes as well. Hungry children and parents will certainly eat this evening!
We sent rolling carts, bags, plastic tubs and back packs to help families carry the supplies. This is only a partial list of what we sent already. A special thank you to all those who have given to help the needs of others in this terrible crisis! Tomorrow we will send more.... please help!
Some of the wildfires in Texas are not contained yet! We face the potential loss of thousands of homes. It’s very close to us…. 1 ½ hour from our Moms Against Hunger warehouses! I need your help!
The smells of fire are nothing compared to the smell of fear around…. Families are continually being evacuated since Sunday and new neighborhoods are emptied by the hour. Now they are gathered in make shift shelters worried sick about their homes and businesses. Crying children are joined by the silent tears of adults hoping and praying all is spared for each of them. Can you send aid today? Click to donate for aid for these victims.
The officials have made a statewide call for firefighters to join to help. While they battle the inferno’s across our state, we are doing what we can to help families. Working to keep nerves calm while they wait, each father and mother are anxious and trying to keep their children from being afraid.
We know what we need to do to help, but I need your help to do so. I need funding so supplies can be bought to help them. I need food, water and supplies for the short term use of shelters. And when the blazes are put out, there will be many who suffer the loss of all things…. So we will need to help provide housing, food and furniture for these. I need Americans……. Moms and Dads who are concerned and will send funds to Moms Against Hunger in this tragic firestorm. Please give today.
She wonders what she is supposed to do now to provide for her children. Can you help? I need your support so I can put my arms around her and offer her assurance in this terrible hour.
We need your support to offer aid to families in need. Imagine losing everything you own, your home, your pets, your history, your pictures. No one can think straight when this happens…. Many are already in a state of shock after discovering all is gone in the ruins.
Look around you right now and think of these families now at a complete loss. What can you send to Moms Against Hunger on your behalf to help these fire families. I will be able to offer aid when you send your love gift. Please give today….. and say a prayer for all of us!
I am ready to give the aid that you send to me for them. I pray the fires stop and the wind dies down and we receive much needed rain. I can only pray about those issues, but together you and I can DO something for families who are losing everything while I write to you for help.
Can you help me with funding for water, food, clothing, household goods and furniture? Together we can provide family by family assistance.

Moms Against Hunger
Packing another water filtration system for Haiti, we know that another group of families will have clean water to sustain their lives.
Children will be free from water borne sicknesses.... adults will be strong and healthy enough to work to provide for their own families.
Sending each one means life.... thank you to those who give to make sure others also deserve to live with clean water.
"Contrary to what people may think about size, although children are smaller than adults, they need to consume more water. In fact, the smaller they are, the more they need to drink. A boy between the ages of 11 and 14 needs to drink 3,3 liters of water per day, and a girl the same age needs 2.8 liters per day. A recent survey revealed that 65% of school aged children between the ages of five and 14 drink less water than they should.
Children are at a much greater risk of dehydration, as the process can begin much more rapidly in them. Once the body is dehydrated, the internal temperature rises and the body, particularly the brain, overheats. Since children are still growing, there is all the more need to keep the body hydrated so that it functions properly. Children should always have unlimited access to safe drinking water. A loss of 2% of body fluids causes a 20% reduction in performance in both physical and mental activities. Dehydration in excess of 3% may lead to heat stroke, a condition to which children are much more prone than adults are." Freedrinkingwater.com
We just delivered 11,340 meals to be served to the homeless in the Greater Houston areas through Christian Alliance. This group has been instrimental in providing for humanity around the world and we are happy to serve them. Their focus has been to provide medical clinics across the world. Our meals will certainly make a difference in lives of moms and dads and children through their caring hands. Moms Against Hunger meals are nutritionial, filling and taste good!
The Grace Project for Local Food Distribution
Christian Alliance continues to distribute food to locations in the Greater Houston Area on a semi-monthly basis. This continues to be a real blessing to residents of the Port Houston and the Third Ward in Houston. Their goal is to increase their coverage to provide 33 poverty areas of Houston with regular food distribution.
Since 1998, the Christian Alliance has delivered more than 102 medical clinics and more than $20,000,000 worth of prescription medicines. These medical clinics are complete with exam and dental stations, as well as office and storage space. These are invaluable to families in need and serve large populations in other countries.
This mother stands for hours, and walks for hours in the cruel heat..... homeless. She does not know what to do to change the situation she is in. Her feet are killing her and the blisters are terrible. An aid worker Jessica kneels down to tenderly help her by providing ointment and clean fresh socks. It's painful to see.... more painful to experience! This is not happening in a third world country, this is here in America.... right now.
Her little girl looks on while we try to help her mommy. Hugging her stuffed animal for comfort she is but a little child out in this terrible heat. We provide cool water, supplies and practical aids for this mother and child....
At one time in life this person you see laying here on the street, was a little child with a mother. That mother may have been her rock that passed away suddenly leaving her without a mom. Or that mother may have failed her child and let her be harmed or abused. She may have been abandoned and lost her way in her younger years. For whatever reason that life handed her more than she could take, and her life has descended into chaos and darkness. She still needs a mother.... Moms Against Hunger provides for the needs of the hopeless and offers help in their worst hours.
Every volunteer that offers aid is bringing encouragement to these... the least in the land.... who still need a mother. We bring them help every week....
Here is a child with his father, both staying out all day in 100+ degree weather, even when you find shelter, you still need to be moving around a little bit, and there’s that sun again. This is another reason and need for sun screen items. This little boy is only 2 years old. And some of the men and women we see, are just as red if not worse.
Look at his eyes.....
It is alarming to see mothers and children living on the streets now. Living so close to the edge of a stable life, when a job loss happens the tumbling comes quickly. Eviction and being thrown out of a home happens overnight. What happens next? They try to find shade from the blazing hot sun- the coolest place to be in relative safety is under a freeway bridge. When they find each other they stick together- living on the streets is a terrible experience and fear a constant reality for each one.
Volunteers serve them supplies under a freeway bridge. We are in need of various items if you can help. Baby powder, baby wipes, baby food, feminine products, soap, socks, shoes, bottled water are just a few of the prized items we can't keep enough of. These mama's are trying to keep their children, and fiercely hanging on to get out of these circumstances. We are doing what we can to help them.
Fresh food tastes so good..... prayers are constantly said by these mothers. Cool water is comforting and greatly appreciated.
Children are not afraid to tell me that they are hungry, or that they feel bad. Sometimes I even hear stories of their little lives that are surprising how they feel about what has happened to their families.
They will shuffle over quietly to me for a hug and a soft word. Once they know I am looking at them and they have my attention... little voices began to tell me what they need. "Do you have something I can eat? Do you have a bandaid for me? Can I eat with you? Can I stay at your house? I'm hungry"...
A child trusts an adult to take care of them, and when the adults in their lives cannot fix the problems deep insecurity can be pressed into their hearts and minds. I want children that go through catastrophiclife shifting events such as tornadoes, or hurricanes or tsunamis, or earthquakes to know that other mothers do care about them and will help them in the hours of need. Children living in a war zone are still children.
Your help is needed in the lives of children all over the world. Children feel the same whether they are in America or Africa when a terrible event rocks their world and their homes are distroyed. Going without food feels the same in the little tummies all around the world. Pain is the same no matter the age, culture, ethnic background or social background. Pain hurts. Hunger hurts. All children need loving attention and care.
Can you make a difference in someones life today? Please donate and save a life now. Your gift to feed a child can bring comfort, supplies and attention to a child in need. Moms are needed worldwide to care for hurting children......why? Because children feel the same way everywhere. I remember a little boy appearing out in the hot African sun and sidling up to me to ask me if I had a drink of water he could have.....
I shall never forget him that day and never stop providing with your help....
