Together our efforts have a far reaching impact in the future. Moms around the world are connected together for the common good of feeding children.
A mother's heart speaks that same language as a mother who lives in terrible poverity who struggles day by day to feed her children in a faraway country. Nucerity moms join in the fight to help save the lives of little ones, and provide encouragement for mama's too.
Various fundraisers are held to provide funds to help.
A mother's love goes out to children in need. If you want to join our efforts please donate today.
We provide good meals for families who are in shock over losing everything in the tornado's. Oklahoma needs the outside aid of many compassionate volunteers to help them in the aftermath and sorrow of their losses.
If you can come to help... please do so. If you cannot but can donate to help us in our work, please give. You can help to provide the food that is needed and put into the shaky hands of men, women and children in this hour. Thank you for giving.
Many thousands of families are in a crisis right now. They need our help to figure out what to do next, and they need our support to offer hope for a better tomorrow.
Make shift tents are hastily being set up and boxes of immediate aid that is on hand is used quickly.
Stepping around broken trees, building debris and pieces of the lives of people, getting ready to serve asap. Your help is greatly appreciated!!! Every donation counts!!! Please give today!!!
Checking supplies to make sure we can do something for families that possibly could lose everything they own in a hurricane. Your help will be needed for shipping, and distribution costs.... Moms Against Hunger cares.... Please donate by clicking the green donate button. It takes funds to make it all happen. We stand in our warehouses and breathe prayers for those who are directly in a serious storm's path.
No one had to be coaxed... they just dug right in! These kids were hungry it was obvious. This nutritious food will certainly help to build the small bodies of boys and girls.... and also strengthen their immune systems from the wet and damp surroundings.
Plates of steaming rice meal were handed out... nothing was left afterwards. These children ate it all. We then fed their mothers and sent food home with each one. It's life's most valuable commodity.... food.
We are walking back into the mangroves in the swamps of Fiji to get to the children living in terrible conditions. We are hand carrying food to the families here with the help of many others in front of us. There is no other way to get back into this area...just by walking. At night the tide comes in and this area is under water. In the daytime the tide flows out and this area is soaked in mud, human waste and diseases.
I find a child right away....he is cold.... bare footed... coughing... and sad. This child did not know we were bringing him help. Our loving kindness to him seemed foreign to him and he was afraid to come to me.
Explaining how to cook the rice meals we brought to them. It started raining on us but it didn't matter... this food was so important for them. Everyone stayed with us to learn what to do.... it was a precious gift of life to each one.
Moms Against Hunger makes a real difference in thousands of lives in Fiji.
She has such a bright smile... and she feels like she is not alone in this world now. Her 'thank you's' were heartfelt! Her children will eat nutritious food now. The mothers in Fiji that survived the floods are trying to get their lives back on track. Moms Against Hunger brings food to help in their hour of need. The very day the container arrived with the food.... families were being fed!
Memo: Please visit our Facebook Moms Against Hunger for updates daily!
The Fiji container has arrived... and is unloaded safely in the warehouse. Teams of Moms are busy passing out food to the hungry flood victims now. Internet is sketchy here and pictures are having a hard time downloading. Will post photos when we can.
5 whole days early of the schedule, the 250,000 meals arrived here in Fiji. With efficient help from the government, the container was released and a truck picked it up and took it cross country to Suva Fiji.
It's safely unloaded in a warehouse and soon our teams of workers will begin to pass out the MUCH NEEDED nutritional food. Moms Against Hunger is about to focus on Fijian children in need. Thank you for your compassionate donations.... your help is needed. There will be trucks and fuel costs to cover now to travel to the flood areas. Please donate today to help with these costs.
The children of Fiji are at great risk RIGHT NOW.
All of the sugar industry in this little nation is washed away.... ALONG WITH THEIR CROPS TO FEED THE NATION.
Food supplies are brought in to a basement facility and meals are being served .....breakfast, lunch and supper here to families in need.
Food tables and cooking is often done outside, finding a safe place away from the destruction all around. Moms get started helping to feed shocked and hurting people all day long. Story after story is told while people stand and eat a hot meal before trying to figure out what to do next....
I want to show you some pictures of the raw reality of destruction.. a child's life and all he knew was gone in an instant. Yet his little tub of toys remains untouched...inside the terrible wind walls of terror.
Or maybe you were up making coffee getting ready to go to work when it hit your house!
There is limited Internet service here in West Liberty Kentucky. Today is so sad for many families burying their moms or dads, sisters brothers and children. There is still no official death count here as body parts cannot be counted without torsos. I will show you how terrible this town looks today.
183 families in Bastrop Tx are still without basic needs met this Christmas season due to the loss of their homes in the fires. It's winter now and we are collecting coats for them. We are in need of coats for men, women, boys, girls and babies...
If you can share please send them to The Community Center 2104 Underwood, LaPorte Tx 77571 in care of Moms Against Hunger. Your help is greatly needed!!
A group of mothers are working hard at preparing our 'Gifts in a Jar' project. Jars are filled with hot chocolate, white chocolate, dulce de leche, and strawberry mixes. These will be sold and the funds used for our Christmas projects.
If you would like to be a part of this project - the jars sell for 3.00 each. Every mom is needed and together we can provide for the needs of single parents. There are thousands of worried mothers who have nothing to give their children this Christmas. They are barely making ends meet and pray their cars don't break down, the baby sitters don't quit, and the food holds out week to week.
We are here for them.
Each family received a turkey along with all the trimmings to make a Thanksgiving Dinner. These were families that would not have had a special day for their children if not for the generous helpers and Moms!
We are thankful for every person who gives to MAH, and for the many volunteers who help to encourage and support local hungry families in need. Happy Thanksgiving Day!
The noise in the background is a jack hammer breaking out the concrete next door. This home has not been touched yet as they have no help, no volunteers or family members to come help them. Every neighbor is dealing with the same destruction...
The Command Center was crammed with officials and computers and fast operations with the firefighters in the field. No one had time to think about food... so it was a welcome relief to have a burrito from Bullritos put in their hands while they kept working.
We are glad to be able to help these many many heros working to save homes and businesses from the wild fires...
Today we pack another one to go at noon today. Last night another subdivision was evacuated at 11 pm. The fire is only 50 percent contained again! Please help and please pray....
We have sent 2 truckloads of supplies so far... and these items are being gratefully received by families who have had to run to shelters. Fire respects no one, and young and old alike, are waiting side by side, praying and waiting to see if their homes and businesses will be spared the ravages of these fire storms.
School bags are useful for each family to receive supplies and a way to carry them. It's hard to carry more than couple of things without a bag or two. So this will help for all the items we are sending to them.
Every mom is worried about what she is going to do tonight for her baby. 'What am I going to do about formula' MAH knows this need and has sent formula to these in need. This will be thankfully received by each mom. Think about trying to soothe a hungry baby in a shelter! They are tired, nervous and sense the fear around them. Only a bottle will help!
Who remembers to bring their toothbrush when you are rushing from home in a crisis? It's the last thing to think of when important papers are paramount along with kids and pets! These will be a welcome sight tonight for everyone who receives one. We are sending toothpaste too.
These are guest bags with sample size items for traveling families. Combs, deodorant, shaving cream, lotion, soap and a wash cloth inside. These will be given to seniors as they are often the last to receive any supplies.
We hope they will get some sleep tonight.
Bread is something that can be used to make fast meals with. We sent all sorts of baked goods, pita breads, rolls, sliced breads, pies and sugar free pies and some cakes as well. Hungry children and parents will certainly eat this evening!
We sent rolling carts, bags, plastic tubs and back packs to help families carry the supplies. This is only a partial list of what we sent already. A special thank you to all those who have given to help the needs of others in this terrible crisis! Tomorrow we will send more.... please help!
The smells of fire are nothing compared to the smell of fear around…. Families are continually being evacuated since Sunday and new neighborhoods are emptied by the hour. Now they are gathered in make shift shelters worried sick about their homes and businesses. Crying children are joined by the silent tears of adults hoping and praying all is spared for each of them. Can you send aid today? Click to donate for aid for these victims.
The officials have made a statewide call for firefighters to join to help. While they battle the inferno’s across our state, we are doing what we can to help families. Working to keep nerves calm while they wait, each father and mother are anxious and trying to keep their children from being afraid.
We know what we need to do to help, but I need your help to do so. I need funding so supplies can be bought to help them. I need food, water and supplies for the short term use of shelters. And when the blazes are put out, there will be many who suffer the loss of all things…. So we will need to help provide housing, food and furniture for these. I need Americans……. Moms and Dads who are concerned and will send funds to Moms Against Hunger in this tragic firestorm. Please give today.
She wonders what she is supposed to do now to provide for her children. Can you help? I need your support so I can put my arms around her and offer her assurance in this terrible hour.
We need your support to offer aid to families in need. Imagine losing everything you own, your home, your pets, your history, your pictures. No one can think straight when this happens…. Many are already in a state of shock after discovering all is gone in the ruins.
Look around you right now and think of these families now at a complete loss. What can you send to Moms Against Hunger on your behalf to help these fire families. I will be able to offer aid when you send your love gift. Please give today….. and say a prayer for all of us!
I am ready to give the aid that you send to me for them. I pray the fires stop and the wind dies down and we receive much needed rain. I can only pray about those issues, but together you and I can DO something for families who are losing everything while I write to you for help.
Can you help me with funding for water, food, clothing, household goods and furniture? Together we can provide family by family assistance.

Mom’s Against Hunger Calls Houston to ‘Pass It On’
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mom’s Against Hunger Calls Houston to ‘Pass It On’
LaPorte, TX – January 25, 2011 - Hurricane Ike, which claimed an untold number of lives in Southeast Texas in 2008 has not been forgotten by others who also suffered loss from this tragedy. Now, Mom’s Against Hunger hopes to challenge friends and neighbors in the area to support those who still have yet to recover from the 3rd largest US hurricane ever to reach US soil, by passing on their good fortune and sponsoring a family at an all day event called “Pass It On.”
Pass It On will be held on March 26th from 9am to 4pm at the Community Center, 2104 Underwood in LaPorte. For a cash gift of just $33, donors can provide a family of four with health exams and diabetes check up by a volunteer medical team who will be available during the event. They also can receive food and clothing vouchers to receive additional aid as well. Pass It On is an initiative of Mom’s Against Hunger to provide food, clothing and medical supplement to struggling families.
For this event, they are challenging 1000 individuals or families to sponsor one or more needy families as
they are able. ($33.00 - 1 family; $66.00 - 2 families; $99.00 - 3 families; etc.)
Dr. Gayla Holley, President and CEO of Mom’s Against Hunger said this, “The concept of ‘paying it forward’ has become synonymous with giving to another to ease their suffering. We hope that Pass It On will also be embraced by those who have been blessed with their basic needs to reach out and sponsor one or more families to help them get a new start. We will be providing a family ten times that amount in medical services alone. There are still too many people that are suffering in our community and government aid has not been nearly enough to offset their loss.”
Donations for Pass It On can be made by calling ; online at www.momsagainsthunger.org.
Mom’s Against Hunger, is a 501C3 organization. All gifts are fully tax deductible.
It takes years for hurricane victims to finally recover from the devastation of a serious storm.
Many people did not survive.... (no one really knows how many lost their lives in Hurricane Ike)
Moms Against Hunger reaches out to help the survivors who are still dealing with the loss of family, homes, businesses, livelihoods, possessions and all their personal belongings.
For these.... life is still very hard and it's a daily struggle that often memories bring back the painful losses again. Finding solutions takes time... finding a job to replace the one lost takes time.... finding renewable resources for ones life takes time. The weak economy is not helping these families get back on their feet again.
'Pass It On' will provide much needed support for the families still in need. March 26th will be a day of help for them. Provisions of food, clothing, and vouchers of aid will bring encouragement to the survivors of Hurricane Ike. Medical teams will be present to provide checkups and personal attention for these families.
You can 'pay it forward' by helping one of these needy families in our "Pass It On' Campaign. Please donate $33.00 to serve a family in assistance. Your help is much appreciated by each mother, father and child who will be given a day of support - from your care for them.
Thank you to the radio stations of Houston Texas ( KNTH and KKHT )for providing support for these families still struggling the after effects of Hurricane Ike.
Thank you for being a part of the Change a Baby’s Life Baby Bottle Program. Filling baby bottles with change is an important way to give to the needs in the lives of little ones around the world. We appreciate your support and want you to know your change is a valuable way you are giving to the needs of others. For those of you who have turned in your baby bottles –THANK YOU!!! We’re able to turn your change into food, baby supplies as well as shipping costs to take care of the needs of suffering children. Right now we need your financial aid, as Cholera is taking the lives of children in Haiti and purified water is essential helping them to survive this deadly virus.
We accept with gratitude those of you who have your baby bottles ready to turn back in. Please bring them to 2104 Underwood – LaPorte Tx between 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday. Just turn them into the office and I will personally receive them. Your gift helps Moms Against Hunger to keep providing food and supplies to needy children around the world. This year alone we have shipped to Ghana -West Africa, Zimbabwe – Southern Africa, Mexico, Guatemala – Central America, and the devastated nation of Haiti. Because of our generous donors we are able to help – and YOU have a part in compassionate aid for suffering people. Your baby bottle of change DOES make a difference!!!
God Bless You
Dr Gayla Holley
It will take everyone to move quickly to stop the excruiating deaths from Cholera! I need to go to Haiti and take instant portable water filtration systems with me. This is a senseless horrible way to die and can be stopped easily. I cannot just watch this happen.....
Can you please help?
Just the look on her sweating face made me want to reassure her that her newborn baby would be okay out here in the hot sun. The burning sun mixed with dry blowing dust made my shirt stick to me as I stood there looking at this mother and her newborn wrapped in a towel. Where was I?
In Haiti ….where 1 million + people still live outside in the dirt! And as I walked around the tight tents of 20,000+ people giving away supplies, I see a beat up box truck with a woman inside. And suddenly I was shocked to find out that she had given birth inside this truck just a few days before!!
Her labor came on strong and having no place that was off of the dirty ground – a stranger had seen her gasping and groaning in pain…. and managed to pick her up and lay her inside this truck and left her to go through labor, delivering a child by herself!!! Alone in the heat…. with a toddler beside her and no husband to help her, she somehow delivered her own child without help in this terrible place.
I saw the depths of sorrow in her eyes and knew that she was suffering trying to care for her 2 children. Only another mother can understand how worried she is, how afraid she is, and completely dependent upon other mothers to help her in this her worst hour of life. Moms Against Hunger comes to her aid to help. No words are needed between us – the eyes say it all…. Desperate fear and relief is the only way to describe the look in her eyes. I know she saw love and compassion in mine as I gave her supplies.
Today I need your help….. we have worked diligently gathering all the needed supplies of food, clothing, baby supplies, water, first aid, shoes and portable tents. Lots of time has been spent finding the shipping money to send each container. Then painstaking time has been taken to pack each container and get it across the waters. And one at a time we have shipped an enormous amount of aid to the masses in Haiti still struggling to survive. One by one we have continued to ship necessities to mothers with children. Moms Against Hunger has shipped 18 containers of aid directly to Haiti and our support systems on the ground there. Every time you sent money to me…. we shipped another container to Haiti.
Now I need to go across to Haiti to find out how the mothers with little children are coping and I need your support. I can’t rely on the media to really tell us the truth of what is happening there with the actual people and our co –laborers are very close to the problems. The only way to know what’s truly going on ……is to go myself.
The news tells us of celebrities and politicians who have raised millions of dollars for Haiti and yet the aid has not been seen there. I wish I had their support….. together you and I have shipped millions of dollars worth of aid for pennies!!!! Millions of meals have been given out without raising any money!! How very, very sad that makes me when I KNOW exactly how much it costs to ship aid and equipment. It really makes me sick in my heart to know what could have, should have been done with the millions they have raised. We must continue on.
Please send me to Haiti. Please put in my hands money to distribute to the workers as I visit the warehouses and ongoing work. I intend to bring back a complete report – the good, the bad and the ugly truth of what is happening there for you my friends who have been a silent supply line of aid to hurting people.
Thank you for helping Moms Against Hunger make a difference in this world.

Save the Children reports 'The vast majority of developing countries have reduced child hunger rates since 1990. And with five years to go, 62 of 118 countries are on track to meet the U.N. Millennium Development Goal of cutting child hunger rates in half. But progress still isn’t reaching many who need it most, and in some places, things are getting worse. In recent years the economic downturn, volatile food prices, and extreme weather have also contributed to growth in the absolute numbers of hungry and malnourished children."
Please mark your CALENDER and plan to donate on this very important day for the needs of others. Your gift will certainly make a difference in the lives of others.
Thank you to the Houston Police Department for honoring me with the Humanitarian Service Award. I am humbled and only want to ease suffering that I see around the world.
As a mother I feel great pain for children who are hurting, and their mothers who are helpless to care for their own due to wars, floods, hurricanes, fires, disease and poverty. It breaks my heart to see humanity in such terrible conditions. It is my desire to bring compassionate care to people regardless of country, creed, customs, or color.
Every child deserves a warm bed and nutritious food, a loving hug and a mother who can provide clothing for her own. I am a mother who understands other mothers and children, having lived in various third world nations around the world. May my efforts make a difference and ease the sorrows of life for nations of people. Thank you for helping me to ship aid around the world HPD!.
