This brand new hospital in China has no supplies, no sutures, no bandages only a few scissors, and the odd medical tool in this cabinet. This is truly troubling as I am concerned for those who are sick and in need of emergency care. We shipped a container of hospital beds, tray tables, xray machines and other equipment for this 3 story hospital. But once I got here and toured the hospital, I had no idea that they REALLY DID NOT HAVE SUPPLIES.
Another charity built this hospital but were unable to stock and equip it once it was built. We were ask to help and we have brought a shipment for this hospital, and what we have brought is great, but the need is still huge!
I am concerned especially for the lack of gloves for the staff to use, not to mention the various other needs that are just as important in caring for patients. I have more to do here before I am comfortable that people will be taken care of properly and carefully. Hospitals around the world are certainly in need of supplies, but to find one that literally has NOTHING on the shelves to do their work with is shocking!
